As an award-winning, internationally recognised hair artist, Nathan Yazbek is often invited to events to conduct educational and creative demonstrations on-stage in front of an audience. He needed a video to play to audiences prior to his presentations so they could learn a bit more about his personal brand, history and style.

After taking home NSW Hairdresser of the Year at the 2023 Australian Hair Industry Awards, Nathan hosted Beyond The Lens, a workshop that allowed a few lucky students to learn Nathan’s creative process for producing award-winning hair collections. The students got to experience the full workflow, from ideation, styling and finally, creative capture, all with Nathan’s guidance. Cinema 7 was asked to capture these images of the students’ styles, taking into account the story and style they intended. These are the results.
